Edward L. Miller, 63, of Kinmundy, passed away at his home early Friday morning, November 6, 2020. He was born January 5, 1957, in Salem, the son of the late Ruth Shaffer and Leon Miller,
who preceded him in death, as did his sister and her husband Sue and Frank Hammer and brother Terry Lee Miller. He married Terri Louise Ott-Reitz, on July 21, 2012, in Salem, Illinois who survives, as does sister Vivian (Jim) Hale and nieces Beth (Ryo) Fujinumaand Becky (Marc) Reardon and nephew Jay Cobb. Four great nieces and nephews also survive. Ed farmed the "home place" his entire life and was fond of saying he was just an "old worn out farmer," who would say he "pulled an old man trick today." He also owned and managed Miller Trucking. He liked to hunt morels, fish, dove, quail, and squirrel hunt in his younger days. Visiting with his neighborhood buddies was his favorite current pastime. Graveside services honoring the life of Ed will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Elder Cemetery, Kinmundy with James Mulvany officiating, burial will follow. Visitation will be held at the cemetery where friends may call from 10 to 11 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Crossroads Cancer Center, in Effingham, or the Donor's Choice. McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Kinmundy is entrusted with the care and arrangements.
