Dorothy "Jean" (Walker) Hayes, age 79 of Louisville, passed away at 2:31 AM, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Jean was born on September 25, 1936 in Andersonville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Charlie J. Walker and the late Syble (Dyer) Walker Brooks. On October 28, 1967 she married Robert Lee Hayes. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2008. She was employed by Barnett Banks in Florida in customer relations and was a member of Louisville Baptist Church. She loved her Boston Terriers and was actively involved in rescue pet adoptions. Jean is survived by her son Richard Lee Hayes and daughter Rebecca (Leonard) Wade; brothers, Ken (Mary) Walker of Gibson City, IL, Charlie (Gini) Walker of Santa Ana, CA, J.C. (Betty) Walker of Dandridge, TN, Fred (Mary Ann) Walker of Germantown, TN; sisters, Betty Griffin of Jefferson City, TN, Flo Eichelberger of Bradenton, FL; grandson, Jason Evans. She is preceded in death by her parents, late husband Robert, brothers Wilbur Walker, Earl Walker, Jack Walker, R.C. Voiles; and sisters Mabel Jenkins and Zelma Owens. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home of Louisville where the family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Floral Garden of Memories in Flora. Memorials may be made to Clay County Animal Rescue Shelter in Flora and will be received at the funeral home.
