Dorothy Dyke

Dorothy "Dort" Allene Van Dyke, 85 of Louisville, Illinois died on Friday, January 27, 2012, at 4:00pm at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She was born to the late Ova O'Dell and the late Ethel (Lewis) O'Dell on Tuesday, July 20, 1926 in Louisville, Illinois. On July 14, 1946 Dort was united in marriage to Leon (Jack) Van Dyke in Indiana and to this union one son and one daughter was born. Surviving are son, Rick Van Dyke and wife Darwin of Louisville, IL,, and their children, Julie and Todd Galloway of Louisville, Shelly and Randy Zimdars of Mason and Jeremy and Suzy Van Dyke of Louisville. Also,.daughter, Suzanne Hower of Kinmundy, IL and her children, Toni and Craig Slagle of Arnold, Mo., and Sherry Hower of Salem; twelve great grand children, three step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Leon (Jack) Van Dyke; brother, Robert O'Dell, sisters, Viola Dawkins and Dolores Miller, and grandson Toby Hower. A public graveside funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Orchard Hill Cemetery located at Route 45 Louisville, Illinois 62858. Interment will be in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville, IL. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Clay County Home Health Nurses. Order Flowers
