Don Luchtefeld

Don Joseph Luchtefeld, age 76, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 4:37am, Thursday, December 18, 2014, at the St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL. He was born October 13, 1938, in Watson Township of Effingham County, Illinois, the son of John and Alma (Wolfer) Luchtefeld. He was united in marriage with Linda Lou Poe on June 24, 1967 in Effingham, Illinois and with this union was one daughter. They were divorced and Linda precedes him in death. Don was an United States Veteran of the Army and was a member of the Edgewood American Legion Post #1168 along with being a member of the Elks in Flora and the Farm Bureau. He was self employed as a farmer and also worked in construction on the roads. Don is survived by his loving companion, Pam Cogdill of Louisville; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Brant Fulfer of Bible Grove; brother and sister-in-law, Alden and Jackie Luchtefeld of Lawrenceville; sister, Lucille Grunloh of Peoria; and grandson and wife, Brandon and Kae Hoyt of Bible Grove; and his first great grandchild is due to arrive in January. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alma Luchtefeld; ex wife, Linda (Poe) Ranes; brothers, Andrew, Ray and Earl Luchtefeld; and sisters, Della Kremer, Norma Jean Gleason, and Amietta Schultz. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 20, 2014. Funeral service will be at J. W. Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 20, 2014, Joe Smith officiating. Interment will be at Bible Grove Cemetery, Louisville, IL Memorial donations may be made to the Donor's Choice.
