Dewain White

Dewain E. White, age 90, of Kinmundy, IL, passed away at 4:15pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Doctors Nursing And Rehabilitation Center of Salem, IL. Dewain was born Friday, March 3, 1922, in Marion County, the son of the late James Thomas White Jr. and the late Ivy Butts White. He married Emma E. Banning White on August 28, 1941 in Marion County, IL. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2009. He was employed by Egyptian Concrete for 31 years and also was a farmer. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a 50 year member of the Labor Union of Salem. He was also a member of the Salem VFW, Salem American Legion and Disabled Veterans. Dewain is survived by son, James R. White Sr. and wife Jean of Iuka, IL, daughter, Deborah K. Atkinson of Salem, IL, brothers, Pearl White of Kinmundy, IL, Larry White and wife Lisa of Kinmundy, IL and Lowell White and wife Judy of Kinmundy, IL, sister, Bea Bingman of Kinmundy, IL; sister-in-law Karen Ingram; 7 grand children; 21 great grand children and 11 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Sandra Lea Loughary; brothers, Verle E. White. Lyle White; sister June White; son-in-law James E. Atkinson; one grandson and one great grandson. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, Kinmundy, IL where the family will receive friends from 9:30am to 11:00am, Saturday, June 30, 2012. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Neal Funeral Home. Interment will be at Elder Cemetery, rural Kinmundy, IL.
