Della Baird

Della Moine Baird, age 90, of Salem, IL, passed away at 1:05 pm, Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL. Della was born August 2, 1922 in Louisville, Illinois the daughter of Edward Henry and Minnie Belle (Peter) Grahn. She married James B. Baird on April 10, 1941 in Clayton, Missouri and to this union two sons and one daughter was born. Della was a member of First Apostolic Church of Salem and enjoyed her time as a homemaker and raising several foster children. She is survived by her sons, James B. Baird Jr. and wife Mary of Altamont and Loy A. Baird and wife Sharon of Vincennes, Indiana; daughter, Sandra K. Byers and husband Terry of Salem; sister, Eula Marie Lewis of Bible Grove; grandchildren, Garrette and Amber Baird, Melisa and Jason Mislich, Blake Byers, Amanda Nohren, Courtney Hargrove and Issabella Byers; great grandchildren, Stephen Mislich, and Trey, Kyle and Nathan Nohren. Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and Minnie Grahn; husband, James Baird Sr (January 7, 2011); and sisters, Mary Charlotta Fowler and Edna Lorene Hale. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, December 7, 2012. Funeral service will be at J. W. Neal Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 8, 2012, Ron Townsley and Calvin Jean officiating. Interment will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville, IL.
