FARINA - Darrell Wayne Pierson, 82, of Farina passed away at 6:25 AM, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at his home.

Darrell was born on November 26, 1938, in Effingham, the son of the late Raymond Elbert and Ruby (Stanfield) Pierson. He married Janet Marie Blair on August 30, 1958, in Louisville and they shared 60 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on May 1, 2019. Darrell worked at Fedders Air Conditioning in Effingham as a tool/die operator. He then worked road construction and was a handyman. He loved to raise any kind of hunting dog and especially coon dogs and was an avid coon hunter and a member of the Flora Coon Club. Darrell also liked to fish when he wasn't hunting.

Darrell is survived by his children; Terri (Mark) Clark, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Tracy (Neil) Gould, of Bible Grove, 7 grandchildren; Sheila McPeak, of Louisville, Ryan (Savannah) Clark, of Bolivar, Missouri, Greg (Ashley) Clark, of Marion, Kristen (Cole) Duke, of Flora, Beth (Jeff) Haarmann, Bible Grove, Emily (Jason) Liggett, of Louisville, Curtis (Jill) Gould, of Louisville, 11 great grandchildren; Matthew McPeak, Eli and Elise Duke, Ella, Landry, Addy, Gracie and Kensie Clark, Blair Liggett, Clayton, and Faith Haarmann. He is also survived by 4 sisters; Janice (Donnie) Oliver, of Indiana, Nancy Weidner, of Louisville, Betty (Martin) Plemmons, of Louisville, Margaret Wood, of Flora, 2 brothers; John (Linda) Pierson, of Louisville, Bill Pierson, of Georgia.

Mr. Pierson was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter; Tammy Lewis, 1 sister; Ruth Pierson, 3 brothers; James, Phillip and Russell Eugene Pierson.

Funeral services honoring the life of Darrell will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Carroll Ross officiating, burial will follow at the Red Brush Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning at the funeral home where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clay County Cancer Crusaders.
