Daniel Boone

Daniel K. Boone, 72, of Kinmundy, passed away at 7:52 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Doctor's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem. Daniel was born on September 24, 1947 in Vandalia the son of the late Thomas and Freda "Lucille" (Sanders) Boone. He married Pama Thompson on March 9, 1973 in Brownstown and she survives. Mr. Boone worked for Van-Tran in Vandalia for several years and later worked at Fedders and Wal-Mart. He enjoyed watching sports, the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Blues, Fighting Illini and the Chicago Bears were some of Daniel's favorite teams. In addition to his wife Pama, he is survived by two daughters; Dawn Gelsinger of Athens, Georgia and Cheryl (John) Dotray of Vandalia, a son; Chad (Patrina) Boone of Kinmundy and by three grandchildren; Logan, Landen and Lincoln. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Sue McCammick and by a granddaughter, P.J. Martin. Private memorial services honoring the life of Daniel will be held at a later date at the Kinmundy Christian Church. Josh Conley will officiate.
