LOUISVILLE – Cleo Andrew Bible, 98, of Louisville, passed away at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2022, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.

Cleo was born at home on September 23, 1923, in Louisville, the son of Drue Bible and Dorothy Oma (Goodman). He married June L. Clark on July 18, 1942, in St. Louis, and they shared 79 years of marriage.  Cleo joined the Army on January 23, 1945 in Chicago, served in the Army as a Sergeant. He received a Meritorious Unit Award, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon w/1 Bronze Battle Star, Victory Medal (Philippines), Liberation Ribbon w/1 Bronze Battle Star, and a Good Conduct Medal.  His date of separation from the military was October 27, 1946 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Cleo worked as a carpenter and farmer.  He was a member of the Red Brush Christian Church and a deacon for several years. Cleo went to Florida in the winter for many years and he loved to fish wherever he was. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Cleo is survived by his wife June, of Louisville, his 3 children: Sandra (Bob) Porter, of Louisville, Jerry Bible, of Louisville, and Gary (Pamela) Bible, of Flora; 8 grandchildren: 11 + great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Cleo was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Jeff Bible, sisters; Lillian Mills, Doris Stortzum and Sylvia DeVore, and great grandchild; Amanda Brank.

Graveside services honoring the life of Cleo will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Red Brush Cemetery in Louisville with Darren Barbee officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Brush Christian Church and will be accepted through the funeral home. The McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville is entrusted with the care and arrangements.
