Christa Lapington

Christa Marie Lapington, 47, of Louisville passed away at 12:51 am Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Christa was born on March 27, 1975, in Flora the daughter of Wayne and Ricki (Courtright) Lapington. Christa worked as a bookkeeper for her father’s company Wayne Lapington Trucking and Excavating, she loved to plant and raise most any kind of flowers. She was an avid sports fan, loving to watch Cardinals Baseball, and Illini Basketball. Christa was a huge cat lover and loved to travel. Her biggest love was for her family and friends.

Christa is survived by her daughter; Jerah Marie Lapington, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, her parents; Wayne and Ricki Lapington, of Louisville, her companion; Tony Phillips, 3 sisters; Sonja Harrison, of Vandalia, Misty Woods, of Kinmundy, Terri (Danny) Lake, of Effingham, 1 brother; David (Jo Ann) Lapington, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that truly loved her, step grandmother; Janet Courtright, of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, and many many friends.

Christa was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Irby and Lucille Lapington, maternal grandfather; Arthur Courtright, maternal grandparents; Murel and Deke Brown, and 1 nephew; Jared Garver.

Celebration of Life services honoring the life of Christa will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Brent Bailey officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday afternoon at the funeral home where friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Christa’s memory to the Clay County Cancer Crusaders, and will be accepted through the funeral home.
