Carlon Lewis

KINMUNDY - Carlon William Lewis, Sr., 76, of Kinmundy, passed away at 8:26 AM, Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Carlon was born on October 17, 1944, in Clay County, Illinois the son of the late Sherman Joseph and Grace Myrtle (Pickel) Lewis. He worked for World Color Press in Salem for 20+ years as a bindery operator. Carlon was an avid fisherman.

Carlon is survived by his 3 children; Carla (Fiancé Tracy Devore) Gibson, of Shumway, Illinois, Carlon W. "Bill" Lewis, Jr., of Centralia, Jeffery Lynn (Christina) Lewis, of Salem, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Rosie Slater, of Salem, Alberta (Dean) Martin, of Casey, Illinois, Deloris (Ken) Parker, of Alma, sister-in-law; Elbertia Lewis Shuler, of Salem. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Howard Lewis, sister; LaFern Lewis, grandson; Joshua Ryan Lewis.

Funeral services honoring the life of Carlon will be held at 1 PM, Monday, February 8, 2021, at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Kinmundy, with Pastor Lloyd Slater officiating, burial will follow at the Alma Cemetery, Alma. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home where friends may call from 12 to 1 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
