Betty Adams

Betty Carol Adams, age 77, of Effingham, IL, passed away at 12:47 pm, Saturday, June 21, 2014, at her home in Effingham, IL., Betty was born December 13, 1936 in Louisville, IL, the daughter of Ray and Bertha Rae (Hord) Barbee. She married Hose Adams in Kankakee, IL in 1951 and to this union two sons were born. She spent her time employed as a chef on a river barge. Betty is survived by son, John (Rita) Adams of Greenup, IL; grandchildren, Misty (Todd) Shannon of San Antonio, TX, Steven (Janet) Adams of Fort Bliss, TX; great grandchildren, Isobella Shannon, Czin Rei Adams and Betty James Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son James Adams; brothers, Victor, James, and Donald "Bud" Barbee, Rolla "Wally" Barbee, infant brothers; sisters, Millie Rose, Helen Wilson, and Lois Barbee. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am, Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Funeral service will be held at J.W. Neal Funeral Home at 11:00am, Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Interment will be at Red Brush Cemetery, Louisville, IL. Memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice and will be received at the funeral home.
