Barbara Yates

Barbara Kathryn Yates, age 77, of Kinmundy, IL, passed away at 1:32 am, Sunday, November 24, 2013, at her daughter's home in Kinmundy, IL. She was born December 6, 1935 in Ingraham, Illinois, the daughter of Hallie and Edna (Parker) Lake. She was united in marriage with Ora Yates Jr on July 23, 1954 in Ingraham, Illinois and with this union were one son and six daughters. Barbara was employed by Brown's Produce in Farina and was a faithful member of the Meacham Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother and also enjoyed her time as a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Ora Yates Jr. of Kinmundy; son, Tom Yates of Kinmundy; daughters, Debra Robb of Champaign, Kathy Robb and husband Stanley of Kinmundy, Lorraine Day and husband Kevin of Kinmundy, Rose Anna Wilkinson and husband Jerry of Clinton, Kelly Fitzjarrald of Kinmundy, and Shelly Yates and friend Jason Stanbary of Burlington, Iowa; brother, James Lake and wife Theresa of Bristol, Rhode Island; brother-in-law, Dale Yates and wife Dortha of Flora; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Yates of Farina; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Hallie and Edna Lake; and brothers, John, Guy, and Neil Lake. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, November 29, 2013. Funeral service will be at the Neal Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 30, 2013, Gene McAllister officiating. Interment will be at Elder Cemetery, Kinmundy, IL Memorial donations may be made to the Carmi Baptist Children's Home or the National Kidney Foundation.
