Barbara Ames

Barbara Ames, 80 of West Liberty, Illinois and formerly of Bible Grove, passed away at 3:33 pm, Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Carle Richland Hospital in Olney, Illinois.
She was born on April 24, 1943 in New Jersey, the daughter of Stanley and Halina (Kostrowski) Wojciechowski. Barbara married Lawrence D. Ames on August 4, 1973 and they shared 49 years of marriage. Barb worked in home healthcare for many years and was a homemaker. She loved to sew and do embroidery work.
Barbara is survived by her husband: Larry Ames of West Liberty; daughter: Audra (Michael) Osborn of West Liberty; 3 grandchildren: Brendan Apke of Effingham, Trevor Apke of Bible Grove, Tearia Goldstein of Effingham; 2 great grandchildren: Ariella Goldstein, and Theodore Goldstein. She is also survived by 2 brothers: Thomas Wojciechowski of New Jersey, and Stan Wojciechowski of North Carolina; a sister: Mary Pelle of New Jersey; mother-in-law: Elizabeth Artin of Michigan.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
It was Barbara’s wishes for cremation and no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Barb’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
