Archie Cruse

Archie Ray Cruse, Sr., age 86 of Flora, IL passed away at 1:55 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Flora Rehab & Healthcare Center in Flora, IL. Archie was born Tuesday, December 10, 1929 in Clay County, IL, the son of the late Ozro Cruse and the late Faye (Coatney) Cruse. He married Doris Irene Harrington on December 23, 1953 in Champaign, IL. She preceded him in death on May 19, 1978. He was employed by Blair Township, Clay County Highway Department as road commissioner, Valley Steel, A.M.F, and was a farmer for Bob Snell in Louisville Township until it was time to retire. He was a member of the Flora VFW and Flora Eagles Club. he was also a past member of the Wabash Baptist Church. Surviving are sons, Archie (Janet) Cruse, Jr. of Louisville, and Gary (Glenda) Cruse of Rinard; daughters, Peggy (Larry) Landreth of Flora, Jo Ann (Jim) Bowen of Louisville, Linda (Allen) Bowen of Louisville, and Barb (Jesse) Shires of Xenia; daughter-in-law Lou Ann Cruse of Louisville; brother, Leroy Cruse of Flora; sisters, Mary (Bill) Whitworth of Selah, WA and Rita Drake of Chesapeake, VA; 19 grand children; 35 great grand children, 2 great great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren on the way. He was preceded by his parents, wfie, son Billy Ray Cruse, brothers David, Lyle and Dale as well as an infant brother; sisters Ruby Eckel and Helen Woodruff and an infant sister. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Friday, April 29, 2015. A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at J. W. Neal Funeral Home. Interment will be in Christian Home Cemetery, Louisville, IL.
