Obituary

Angela Sue Townsend (Frazier) joyfully received her long-awaited hug from Jesus on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 7:50 a.m.

Angela a beautiful blonde-haired, blue-eyed, dimple-cheeked baby girl, was born on July 13, 1963, in Flora, Illinois, to the late Sherman Eugene Frazier and the late Judith V. Lewis (Junkerman.) She was loved and also raised by her late grandmother Edna Frazier (Fender) and later her second "Mommy" Carolyn Frazier (Mullins). She was the loving and slightly bossy big sister to twin brothers Ronald (Mary) Frazier, Donald (Elaine) Frazier, late Jonathon Edward Frazier, Amanda (Chris) Prince, and Emily (Dustyn) Alexander. Angie met her late infant sister Theresa Frazier for the first time in Heaven. Angie cherished special relationships with her nieces and nephews.

Angela, often called "Angie," attended North Clay Community Schools and was awarded two Associates Degrees from Olney Central College. Over the years she worked as an Assistant Manager at Wareco, Office Administration, and Menards where she created lasting friendships with all those she worked with and earned the nickname "Sunshine" because of her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and positive spirit.

Angie was a devoted wife of 38 years to Lowell "Chip" Townsend. They were joined in marriage on February 27, 1987 in Kentucky. Together, they raised a blended family whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally; Nickie Farris, Bonnie Glass, Angela L Townsend, CJ Townsend, and Lacey Townsend Beck. Cherished grandchildren include Destinie, Jonathan, Kaleb, David, Willow, Edward, Riley, Ivy, Jude and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved Yorkie: Delilah. Through this union she gained two Sisters-in-law Rona (Larry) Gouchenouer and Irene (Tom) McWhorter and several nieces and nephews.

Angie loved practicing Martial Arts, White Castle Burgers, Flowers, Christian Rock, Hallmark Christmas Movies, Mystery Shows, Reading and Singing. She was truly an Overcomer and faced life's challenges with quiet strength and grace and a deep faith in God. Her favorite verse was Isaiah 41:10 and she encouraged her family to commit it to memory.

Angela leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, faith, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family encourages you to honor her memory by singing or reading to your babies, relishing a favorite meal with family, or admiring the simple joy of a beautiful flower or country drive on a sunny day.

Funeral services to celebrate Angie's life will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, May 8, 2026, at the McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville with Ronnie Frazier and Gene Birch officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Union Cemetery, rural Louisville. A visitation will be held on Friday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. An organization close to her heart was St. Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital and donations can be made there in her honor.

The McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. To sign the guestbook online or to share a memory or story of Angie, please visit www.mcgriffandtriplettfh.com.
