Angela Kye Bowen, age 33, of Murphysboro, Illinois passed away in her sleep on Monday, April 6, 2026, in Goreville, Illinois.
Angela was born on January 29, 1993, in Effingham, Illinois the daughter of Virgil and Laura (Steevenson) Bowen.
Angela dedicated herself to a variety of roles over the years, demonstrating versatility and commitment in her work. Her most recent position as a cashier in retail reflected her friendly nature and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Beyond her professional life, Angela's heart was deeply tied to her family, particularly her daughter, Krystle. Her greatest joy in life was playing with her father's Husky dogs, moments that brought her happiness and peace. Yet, it was her unwavering devotion and care for Krystle that defined her spirit. No matter the circumstances, Angela's foremost concern was ensuring her daughter's happiness and contentment. This selfless love illuminated Angela's character and left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Angela is survived by her daughter: Krystle; father and step-mother: Virgil (Paula) Bowen of Louisville; sisters: Stephanie Webb of Louisville, Amanda Pitts of Louisville, Selena Winkler of Paducah, Kentucky; step-siblings: Christopher (Iesha) Frank of Bremen, Kentucky, Lutricia Pearson of Kentucky, Ruth Garrett of Kentucky, James Garrett of Indiana, Starla (David) Hanna of Olney, Cassie (Richard) Mulvaney of Taylorville, Illinois; aunts: Pat Polcyn of Louisville, Cubie (James) Acree of Xenia; Uncles: Allen (Linda) Bowen of Louisville, David Wood of Cisne; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Angela was preceded in death by her mother; grandmother: Mary Bowen; Uncle Jimmy Dale Bowen, Jr.
